West Central Wildcats - Female Hockey
The West Central Wildcats is a female hockey program made up of players from the following associations: Bentley, Caroline, Eckville, Rimbey, Rocky Mountain House, Spruce View and Sylvan Lake. The Wildcats play in the Rocky Mountain Female Hockey League (RMFHL) with teams from as far north as Whitecourt and as far south as Lethbridge, east to Brooks and west to Canmore. The league has two tiers that allow teams to move to the most competitive tier after an initial tiering round. The RMFHL is still growing rapidly, creating new opportunities to increase competitiveness each year.
The Wildcats operate teams at the U11 (Atom), U13 (Peewee), U15 (Bantam), and U18 (Midget) levels, with two teams in some divisions allowing for A and B teams.
Currently the U11 & U13 teams are operated by Bentley Minor Hockey and the U15 & U18 teams are operated by Eckville Minor Hockey. Registration links will be available under the specific division tabs above. Our registration numbers look like we will support the formation of two teams each at U11, U13, and U15.
The philosophy of the West Central Wildcats is simple. We focus on:
· Growth & Development
· Increasing Participation
· Skill Development
· A Safe Environment
· Fun & Enjoyment
Decisions are made with these principles at the foundation. So sometimes that means welcoming players from outside our boundaries to help them find a team to play on. Or reducing the size of our teams to make two tiered teams in the same division, allowing like skilled players to be on the team that provides the most opportunity for improvement and fun.
We encourage players and parents to contact the Female Director (email@example.com) with any questions. The female game is growing and we are excited to have one of the best development models in Alberta.
